A small but obstinately strongwilled red fly agaric was in no way prepared to go under the first white cover of this year. For fun the red phenomenon might be called a panic button in the first snow. Maybe the little hatbearer was waiting at Alutaguse for the great admirer of its family, Arne Ader, who has the fly agarics as his favourite mushroom photo models. But surely the little mushroom was happy to see, among its observers, Hendrik Relve (photo below) and a whole group of brave ramblers who pitted themselves against the tiring but exciting Seljamäe learning trail on October 17.

For those who went on mushroom excursions in the Võrumaa forests in September this year it is surely interesting to browse the list of all the mushrooms that arrived at the exhibition. In two years the Rõuge mushroom show has been graced by 274 different species of fungi, and more will be added already in the spring.
