Know trees in winter - larch

Splendid Christmas arrangements can be made with branches of larch (Larix), the characteristic knobbly-knotty branches look very well painted, or simply tied in a bunch.

You can still – just - recognize the tree, with needles in summer and even otherwise quite like a spruce (it may grow up to 40 meters high), from the now yellowed needles that already have fallen or are dropping from part of the trees.

Larches can be found in parks, but only very seldom naturalised in nature.
