Night in the forest was six degrees with day temperatures reaching 21. Around three o'clock came a few drops of rain, but this was merely a scattering. Night and morning brought a break in the winds, but after lunch there were gusts of around 15 meters per second.
Tuesday starkly contrasted Monday with no disruptions at the nest—the calm after the storm. The chicks play and chat amongst themselves, from time to time stretching their legs or their wings… The photo shows a competition to see whose legs totter the least. The smallest chick won!
The parents brought food at least six times. The chicks are getting more clever and they grab the food even before it lands in the nest. Everything moves so quickly, it's difficult to determine who was feeding the chicks at that moment—Padis or Donna.
Evening brought more sprinkled showers which don't do much do relieve the drought. Weather forecasters promise similar rainfall through the end of the week.
