Spring will be here in just a few months time even though snow is thick on the ground just now.
Birds nest each spring – they build their nests and lay their eggs. The Estonian Museum of Natural History presents an exhibition of birds’ nests and eggs, starting on February 11. The exhibition shows mainly eggs and nests of birds nesting in Estonia, but also some interesting examples from other parts of the world. Eggs of the blackbird, tawny owl, cuckoo, grey flycatcher and many other birds are on display, as well as the eggs of the smallest and the largest bird in Estonia, and those of the world’s largest bird. Visitors can have a look inside a nesting box, and find instructions on how to build one.
The Museum of Natural History, Lai 29A, Tallinn, is open from Wednesday to Sunday, 10.00 – 17.00.
