Chinese sleeper (Perccottus glenii) from the Far East.

The fish species above was found for the first time in Estonia in July 2007, in East Virumaa. The voracious and extremely hardy species is a serious threat to the fauna of our inland waters.
On Thursday, April 22, at  6 pm, foreign species will be discussed at the Estonian Museum of Natural History, Lai 29A, Tallinn. The subject will be introduced by Ülle Reier, the Institute of Ecology and Earth Sciences, University of Tartu, and Tiit Hunt,  director of the Zoology department of the Estonian Museum of Natural History. The lecture evening is part of a series that the Museum of Natural History arranges to celebrate the International Biodiversity Year declared by UN for 2010.

Admission to the lecture is free and the theme highly interesting.
