A landliving slug native to Estonia, with a body length of up to some twenty centimetres; this is one of our largest snail species and they are not an everyday sight. The body and mantle are black to dark grey, the keel on the back at the rear of the body may be whitish. It lives in quite different types of forests, feeding on plants, decaying matter, mushrooms..
