Everyoney knows the grey-and-black feathered crow. There are really no places, except in a very dense forest, where there aren’t hooded crows. They may settle in the city or the country, cultured or nature landscapes, on islands without trees and in solitary trees in open landscapes.

Beginning in the middle of April, the female lays 4-6 eggs. Incubation lasts up to some twenty days and then it takes about five weeks until the chicks fledge. After leaving the nest, the families still keep together for some time. It is amusing to observe their family doings – teaching the young to become clever and smart birds – even in city parks.
