During the last week many orange tip butterflies have fluttered at roadsides and forest verges again. The males are particularly eyecatching with the orange areas on the tips on the forewings. The females are much more modest: where the males are dawn red, the females are only grey. The undersides of the wings are white with a green pattern for both sexes.
