A fabulously warm summer and the abundance of water in spring have brought lush growth and spread of plants and of those whose home is in grasslands or tree crowns. The dearth of butterflies last year has been replaced by a wealth of them, and this shows, in daytime and at night. And the wonders of the butterfly world aren’t only restricted to the time of the winged imago, it is there too during the curious – to the human eye – larva period.
