Meadow gladiolus.

A beautiful surprise as a first find, and always for a plant enthusiast: it isn’t an everyday plant. The smaller flowers of our only native gladiolus are similar to those of the garden varieties, in a long one-sided spike and purple to violet in colour. Picking this protected plant is not allowed; it has become more rare even so. The best chances of seeing the meadow gladiolus is in Tartumaa and Pärnumaa, especially around Häädemeeste and on the meadows of Abruks island.
