Toadflax.

  Toadflax
Harilik käokannus
 Linaria vulgaris

A quite common plant of the Scrophulariaceae or Figwort family, grows even on the pebbles on sea shores. Other habitats: dry meadows, roadsides and field verges, wastelands and sands, showing that it prefers lighter soils.

Densely leafed stems, that can grow up to a metre high, leaves unstalked. Yellow, fragile flowers with a long spur – as if they had a tail – in a long, spike-like raceme at the tip of the stem. Flowering time until September. A good honey plant, in addition to its decorative values.
