This late summer one of the greatest meetings with animals in nature was the encounter with the toad. It came jumping(!) along on the garden path towards me, without noticing me at first. We were both scared at the meeting, I maybe the more, because I haven’t seen a toad this big in nature earlier. It raised itself on its feet and blew itself up. Uuhhh – see how big... Before I got hold of my camera the pose was lost, but some photos I could still make. Books say that the maximum length of toads can be 15 centimetres, but this one was certainly larger. A splendid animal, probably a female. May she have many children ....
