Wooded meadows and light grass-covered areas in forests offer the best chances to find this mushroom. Young white-coloured specimens are tasty, and can be eaten without parboiling. Later the top part of the pestle-shaped mushroom becomes greyish-brown. The joint between the top part and the foot is nicely crinkled.

There is nearly always something to discover in the world of mushrooms.
