Clear nights and falling stars

Jupiter, Io, Ganymede, Europe and Callisto

The autumn days are clear and colourful but on Thursday and Friday there is cause to go out at night. Even on Saturday there may be some chances but will the clear weather last?

There will be meteors coming from the „head“ of the Dragon or Draco constellation in the sky. The moon won’t disturb the observations, the new moon only starts waxing tonight. The Draconids can best be seen  in the evening and compared to the Perseids (that could be seen in August, but only as flashing glimpses) the Draconids move noticeably more slowly.
Look for Jupiter and its moons in the sky, binoculars are quite enough as a help. In the city the general “light noise” disturbs observations.

Best wishes for your wishes!
