The grey seals gather on the beach at the beginning of the storm. In the Gulf of Riga the spawning of the whitefish (Coreganus sp.) should be coming to an end and the storm scatters the last shoals of fish. 

 

There are just a few degrees of frost at the shore, the seawater level rises and the westerly wind reaches up to 18 m/s in gusts. Pre-winter and the beginning of winter have really been very windy, on top of the cold and the large amounts of snow in the coastal areas.
