The flock of seals has been in camera view quite steadily since autumn. From the times before observation cameras there is a belief that before the birthing period - which begins in mid-February - the seals disappear somewhere, and if the islet is in open water they will be back for the birthing.
We will see if it works out this way this winter too. If yes: then one more hypothesis will have been proved – or it will have to be refuted
