Bird spring is speeding up.

The chaffinch is our most numerous bird, and so also our most common nesting bird. Ever more often we see them busy with something on the verges of roads, on lawns as the snow melts and under trees looking for seeds and insects. The male is larger and more colourful than the female. The spring arrivals are easy to observe, and so we leave the description of this colourful bird’s plumage to the readers to do on their own
