Such a deer herd hasn’t come into camera view earlier. Interesting that they were all mixed, stags and hinds. Of course Hubert with his magnificent antlers was there but in the background at respectful distance there are two youths with stick antlers.

 

The hinds wean the calves off at half year old (birth was in May). The bond between mother and calf is no longer very strong although they may move in a common herd for a couple of years more.
