Black woodpecker.
The hammering of the black woodpecker in the forest fringe carries far. It sounds as if there were forestry work going on and so it is, in a way. The blackhammer knocks energetically at the crack willow trunk, so that the chips that are loosened by the hits of its bill fly in every which direction. Those who listen carefully to the sound track will also discover jays who croak like crows and squeak like buzzards further away in the forest.
