On Saturday at noon the water level had fallen almost half a metre compared to midnight. The wind was slowly receding and turning to north-west, force in gusts up to 16 m/s.The north-westerly wind is the broom of heaven; the sun charged the batteries, air temperature is falling, the thermometer still showed four degrees plus, but the water was warmer by a couple of degrees.

 

The sea creatures seemed to feel that it was a good time for swimming. The gales of the Christmas month were frequent but brief and there has not been any remarkable flood damage although the water level in the Baltic has stayed high during all of December.
