A week ago a new female bear appeared at the viewing ground. Kestutis has portrayed her nicely. And from what do we deduce that it is a female? – this beautiful fully grown creature has a shorter torso than a full-grown male bear.
The video shows that the arrival of the large male bear, the "lord of the manor“ frightens the female into leaving. Mating period is over.
What plants are on the summer menu of brown bears? Preferably lush and juicy ones such as stalks of umbellates, plenty of them at the moment – cow parsley, angelica, ground elder, hogweed - and composites - dandelion, burdock, cabbage thistle.
