Greenfinches, a major gang settling down at Sõrve säär (14.10.2012)
The dullest day of this autumn at Sõrve säär. There were not particularly many migrants. Species altogether were „only“ 86 (inland in October this would be a great result). The crested lark (Galerida cristata) that otherwise is a definite rarity in Estonia begins to be boring too. Evidently it means to stay here for the winter. And largely nobody came into the nets, only 75 birds got rings on their feet. The most exciting part of the autumn migration seems to be ending.
