The former owner of the proudest antlers behaves most confidently at the goodies - carrots

 

 

During winter groups of stags move together. As already mentioned the older males started to drop their antlers in the second half of February. Thus a young animal with eight-pronged antlers is the only remaining ”antler-bearer”, another with similar antlers has lost them in the forest recently.

 

They have got used to the observation ground but visiting is mainly after midnight; so here is a somewhat longer video about the doings of the red deer at the feeding ground.
