A nice video showing how the badger male has been given the task to fetch new floor covering materials – dried leaves and moss. Urmas Lett cut the half-hour operation to a video of 12 minutes.
It is highly probable that the badger mom has cubs in the nest- if we are lucky we will see the next generation of the badgers in about three weeks.
Evening dusk is when the activities start. The male can be recognised by a patch on the back, there is a slightly shinier spot; the female has a little browner fur. Anyway, exciting times are about to come. We will introduce the life of this indigenous inhabitant of our nature by and by.

The size of the forepaw trace of an adult individual is 5 x 5 centimetres, the size of the hind paw slightly smaller – well visible in the photo. When walking the length of the stride is about half a metre, and up to a metre when noticing danger or escaping. The badger has five toes and a digger must of course have properly sized claws.
