On the evening of Good Friday the female in the second camera nest laid her first egg. She spent a suspiciously long time on the nest for the whole day, despite the rainy and slushy weather. Katrin showed her first egg clearly only in the morning.

The birds in the buzzard webcams now also have got their names. Name proposers were 48, and from the names offered by them we chose the most popular. True, with one modification – for the male in the first nest the most frequently proposed was Villem but to avoid confusion with the GPS-carrying buzzard Villu we picked the next name in rank and this was Mihkel. Mari in different versions was most often paired with Mihkel.
So the buzzard pair in the first buzzard nest now has the names Mari and Mihkel.
From today, Saturday, they have three eggs in the nest.

For the birds residing in the second buzzard webcam nest Kalju was chosen most often, and Katrin was named twice as the mate of Kalju. In today’s slushy weather it is mostly Katrin who has been warming her first egg but Kalju has taken part in the action too.
So the buzzard pair in the second buzzard nest has been named Katrin and Kalju.
They will hardly limit themselves to one egg.
By these names their nest life is also recorded in the forum.
