Looduse Aasta Foto 2013 - Nature Year Photo 2013

Story of the lynx

“To capture a lynx in a photo one must have tremendous luck. Or at least be Harri Põldsam*” – Rein Maran’s film “The lynx’s story” begins with these words. I was lucky. The lynx is an extremely cautious and suspicious creature, but that day some sense deceived it and so we met. The fright was mutual, as was the momentary freezing in place. A lynx does not attack humans although it can overpower one without very great effort. I took a step, the lynx retreated. November 2011. Kõpu. Jõgevamaa.
