 … last Wednesday. The owl chicks will not be seen for long in the nest now. Soon they will already climb out to cling on the surrounding trees where Klaara and Klaus will visit to feed them; there is no going back to the nestbox.

 

On leaving the nestbox the owlets clamber around on tree trunks and larger branches. Within a few weeks they will be able to fly a little. The owl parents must take care of the chicks and feed them until the end of August.
