In the Osprey-Nest 2 (Kalakotkakaamera 2) nest Ülo from the Eagle club has successfully finished the „inventory“ of the first chick.
On Wednesday at half past two the ringing, measuring, weighing and also collecting feather samples of the osprey chicks started.
The osprey chicks were tranquil, the scolding of mother Irma was heard at a distance but then who would not scold intruders, although the entrants had the best of intentions. The whole operation took about half an hour. Another half-hour, and the eaglets realised that it had all been very terrible but actually we are all right.
Kaido is the largest of the chicks, hatched on June 15th.
The middle one is called Kenno, he hatched on June 17th.
The tiniest, Kaari, was not hatched until on June 20th, in the evening.
Urmas will send us the results of the weighings and measurings within short, as well as the ring numbers belonging to the respective names.
At 8 pm the adults had not yet returned to the nest, but they will come.
Irma had been fishing and arrived at the nest at 9.15 pm – and what joy to get empty stomachs filled. In another 15 minutes Ilmar too had arrived with fish.
