Long-awaited book published

The making of the book required much work from all concerned: from authors to layout editor. The content of the book required both scientific exactness and enjoyable reading. It is good to know that no one involved shunned extra worry or work in any stage in order for getting an even better result.

The design of the book, from the layout to the printing is of very high quality. Thanks to the generous printers we were allowed to see for ourselves how what was seen on the computer screen appeared on paper. It is clear that the printers too took pleasure in making it and this can be felt in the book.

The book offers much joy. It has been a pleasure for the makers and hopefully it will be a joy for all nature friends.

"EESTI PÄEVALIBLIKAD"
(Estonan butterflies)

The aim of the book is to present the butterflies living in Estonia, their life cycles, and habitats and to be a guide to learn to know the life of these beautiful animals:

The book provides guidelines for studying butterflies and collecting them.
It is illustrated with photos taken in Estonia. Photo arrays and species descriptions of butterflies of Estonia and our neighbouring areas make up a major part of the book. In the photos all butterfly species found in Estonia are shown. Species that occur in our neighbouring areas and may happen to visit Estonia have also been included.

The butterflies in the photo arrays have been photographed from specimens in scientific collections. Only in this way it is possible to show all essential identification characteristics and to get photos of all species within a reasonable time period.  With the help of these everyone should be able to identify the butterflies encountered Estonian nature.

The book was released by publisher Varrak. The butterfly book can be bought in larger book stores or their e-shops.
