We were prepared for serious repair work at the seal camera. The weather maps showed the only ”wind gap” on Wednesday afternoon when Ivar and Oskar Jüssi could manage to slip in to count seal pups and meanwhile Olle Koert would be able to map the damage to the camera system…
The storm winds that had been blowing from the open sea had subsided but the waves were high enough to make crossing and landing in a small boat uncomfortable, mildly expressed, for the men. There were only a couple of plus degrees in the water and a band of ice gruel along the shore edge. From the evening the wind would turn to northwest, the deep blue cloud front was already visible and according to the meteorologists the storm will last until the end of the week..
Now then about the damage: the storm had torn down the whole of our system, but had not broken it – our doings seem to be not altogether unpleasing to Neptune. The appliances, solar panels and remote control panel were intact; for a wonder all connections too were in working order.
The surveillance camera works. Of course we always wish for sunny weather, so that the batteries get charged.
We see 3-4 days old grey seal pups on the beach, the adults started arriving to the shore at about half past five. Interesting what view we will see in the morning?

About twenty female seals have had pups; Ivar will write about them.
