A field mowed in autumn no longer attracts buzzards
In the home area of buzzard Villu a tractor rumbled even today, cutting the last silo grass. While it brought together a ”reunion” of various birds of prey in summer then today only a magpie and two ravens showed an interest in the cut area and even they only briefly. Villu was no longer involved in this, he set out towards south already on October 11th. Where Villu and young Kordian, who set off nearly one week earlier, are is shown on the Year of the Buzzard web site:
LINK.
Only the previous week six buzzards passing on their migration could be seen hunting above the nearby harvested corn field but today’s mowed area did not attract a single traveller. Probably the largest part of buzzards with migration intentions have already set off. We will see how many buzzards will stay for winter in Estonia this year.
Villu said goodbye to us for this year – V!
