Lungwort: look for it at wood edges

Lungwort.

We don’t have many plants with many-coloured flowers, but one of them is the lungwort (Pulmonaria obscura) with blue, pink and violet flowers - the same colour range as the liverleaf, or Hepatica, has. But the lungwort shows all the colours on the same flower stem. The secret is that a lungwort flower changes its colour as it ages – the new flowers are pink, later turning more blue and violet. Just now, mostly pink flowers are to be found. Lungwort leaves can also be used in a salad.
