Portugal Black Storks left the nest

Black Storks on Portugal camera.

The BS must have left allready: the last time they were seen on the nest was on the 1st September.

Now the cam has become again a vulture cam (as it was at the beggining). We can see almost everyday (mainly in the beggining of the afternoon) griffon vultures that stop on the several platforms that can be seen through the cam.

The young griffon vulture that was born on the nest that is not seen by the cam goes there everyday to eat (he will leave to Africa on the middle of Oktober, I guess) and some couples are allready looking for nests for next season. We think that these are new couples as usually old couples stay on the same nest and there are more and more griffon vultures in this area. Let's hope that none of them stays on the BS nest.

But we also hope that this winter we will have a young griffon vulture on one of the nests that are seen by the cam. They are really cute.
And in December we will see the mating of griffon vultures and on the beginning of January if we are lucky we will have at least one egg.

Griffon vultures.
