Dear bird friends!
A reminder: this year the traditional "Easter Bird Observation Days” will be on April 3 and 4 , that is, this weekend.
The Estonian Ornithological Society invites all to go out during these days, to enjoy early spring that has finally arrived and to watch the bird life that is picking up speed with the coming of the long-awaited spring.
Very little is needed to take part in the bird observation days: simply to find some moments during these two days to see who are fluttering and twittering around us. It can be done in your own garden, on a hour’s walk, or in a bird watching excursion that lasts the whole weekend. There will be free bird watching expeditions led by experts in many places in Estonia during these days. All are welcome to join them!
We ask those who take part in the bird observatons to please note all known bird species and also to note how many birds of each species were seen – even if it will be only an estimate –, the area where the observations were made, and your most interesting bird observations or bird meetings.
Please send the summaries of your observations to the co-ordinator of the observation days during next week, best by e-mail to:
or by post, address Uus 53, 73301 Järva-Jaani.
Support material for the bird observatons, summaries of previous years and information about bird events at the weekend are on EOÜ’s home page www.eoy.ee.
Wishing all splendid bird adventures!
