A great number of eagles visit the feeding ground. In the cold weather on Saturday Urmas spent all daylight time in the shelter, and he believes that at least eleven different white-tailed eagles are active around the area.

The perching tree of the eagles is the first pine tree to the right in the web camera view.

The white-tailed eagle is our largest bird of prey, with a wing span of up to 200-245 centimetres and weighing of up to 6 kilos. The upper and lower body parts of adult birds are (dark) brown, head and neck are pale brown with dark bands, the whole tail is white, the beak pale yellow and the feet yellow. The plumage of  younger birds is dark brown and so they can easily be confused with spotted eagles, especially at a brief encounter. But white-tailed eagle are markedly bigger and fly with slower wing beats. Figuratively speaking white-tailed eagles remind of “flying carpets“.
