Our Lesser Spotted Eagle pair has gone to the nest nearly every morning and it always seems the eggs will be laid. In other areas where we've observed eagles, the mother bird has gone missing in the last week—which means she's sitting somewhere on a nest…
Sunday morning our nest was empty, but the mother bird visited the nest twice in the same day.
But several smaller birds have found their own use for the eagles' nest. The Blue Tit, Chaffinch, Eurasian Treecreeper, and the Hawfinch are all interested in getting some eagle feathers to decorate their own nests! It's possible that there have been other quick visitors — write us and let us know what you've observed.
